First Step Towards My  Recovery

How I Lost Weight, Regained It, and Finally Found Real Fitness

The day I decided to take control of my health , was the day my life start changing.
I didn’t know totally, what exercises to do or what diet to follow. All I knew was that if I continue living the way I was, my health would only get poor. Then ,
I  promised myself –   I will heal my body under any circumstances. That promise has become more powerful than all my fears.

Started By Taking Small Steps

Because of my disc bulge, constant pain and obesity , At that time i could not handle intense workouts. So, I started with the baby steps.

My First Serious Attempt to Lose Weight

Once I had decided to improve my health, I purchased  one-year online weight-loss plan that offered daily diet and nutrition.Besides the meal plan, I also started walking every evening in the park. I walked almost 6–7 km daily, which usually took me more than two an half hours.

The Results Came Quickly Following Diet Plan

Within just five months, I started losing weight. My weight dropped from 73 kg to 64 kg and everyone around me noticed the difference. I started receiving compliments because people said I looked much slimmer. I thought I had finally found the results.

But My Body Was Telling a Different Story

Although I looked slimmer but  I didn’t feel healthier. Instead, I began experiencing serious pain in my legs due to long walk and standing, this  put too much pressure on my legs. Even after returning home from park, I spent several hours standing in the kitchen, preparing meals and taking care of my family. Because of this, I developed varicose veins later on. I wore compression stockings every single day for almost four months.Gradually, the pain became so uncomfortable that I had to stop my evening walks completely. Again I continued following the diet plan, hoping it would be enough to maintain my progress.

Losing Weight Did not Mean I Was Healthy

Even though I had lost weight, I constantly felt weak and exhausted. My energy levels were low and my body didn’t feel strong. After some time, I stopped following the online diet plan also.

When the Weight Came Back

Some years later, my weight started increasing again and this time, much faster than before. The 9 kilogram I had lost came back, along with an additional 5 kilograms. My weight increased from 64 kg to 78 kg, making me even heavier than when I had first started. That was one of the most disheartening moments of my life. ,I felt like all my hard work had been wasted.

The Lesson That Changed My Perspective

During this phase  I realized something important. Simply losing weight doesn’t always mean you’re becoming healthier. My body had become lighter, but it hadn’t become stronger. I had focused on reducing the number on the weighing scale, but I hadn’t focused on building a healthier body. That experience completely changed the way I looked at fitness. It made me realize that long-term health requires much more than dieting and endless walking. And that realization became the foundation of the next phase of my transformation. In the following blogs, I’ll share how I discovered the importance of strength training, muscle building, and maintainable lifestyle changes and how they completely transformed both my body and my health.

Learning About Nutrition

Soon, I realized that exercise alone wasn’t enough. I started reading about nutrition, weight loss, hormones, and how food affects our overall health. For the first time, I understood that dieting and nourishing your body are two completely different things. Instead of starving myself, I began making healthier choices. I increased my protein intake, included more fruits and vegetables, reduced processed foods and started drinking enough water every day.By doing this,I was trying to rebuild my health.

Falling Down and Getting Back Up

My journey wasn’t perfect. There were weeks when my back pain became worse. There were days when my motivation disappeared.Sometimes my weight wouldn’t change even after following my routine consistently. There were moments when I felt like giving up.But then I reminded myself why I had started.I wasn’t just trying to become slimmer.I wanted to live without pain.I wanted to breathe comfortably.I wanted my children to have a healthy and energetic mother. That purpose kept me moving forward.

Discovering the Power of Strength Training

As my body became stronger, After taking some therapy appointments ,I gradually introduced strength training under proper guidance. At first, I was scared, Like others women, I believed lifting weights might make my pain worse or make me look bulky. But I soon realized that strength training was actually is what my body needed. It helped strengthen my muscles, improved my posture, reduced my back pain, increased my confidence, and boosted my metabolism. For the first time in years, I felt like I was becoming stronger instead of weaker.

A New Lifestyle, Not a Temporary Diet

I stopped pursuing quick weight-loss tricks. Instead, I focused on building healthy habits that I could maintain for life long.I learned to sleep better by listening motivated audios like Acharya Rajneesh .I prioritized recovery.I managed stress more effectively.I ate balanced meals instead of following extreme diets.

Becoming the Woman I Needed

Today, I don’t see my past struggles as failures, They became my greatest support.Every health issue taught me the importance of listening to my body, Every hurdle made me stronger. Every small achievement reminded me that healing is possible.I may not have chosen the challenges life gave me, but I chose how to respond to them. And that’s what transformed not only my body, but also my mindset. This is not the end of my journey. It is the beginning of a healthier, stronger, and happier version of myself. My mission now is to inspire other women who believe it’s too late to change. Because if I could rebuild my life after obesity, chronic pain, hormonal imbalance, and adenomyosis ,Then you can too
